Samsung Electronics said on the 8th that domestic preorders for its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 series, reached 1.35 million units in one week, the highest among all Galaxy S series.
The previous record was held by the Galaxy S25 series. During an 11-day preorder period at the time, the S25 series recorded 1.3 million units. The S26 series surpassed that in a shorter period, leading to assessments that its early momentum is notable.
By model, premium demand stood out clearly. The top-tier Galaxy S26 Ultra accounted for 70% of total preorders, continuing the preference for high-end models. Samsung Electronics also said preorders for the Galaxy S26 Ultra were the highest among all Ultra models.
Preferences for colors varied by model. For the Ultra and standard models, white and black were highly popular, while for the Plus model, black and cobalt violet drew the most consumer choices.
According to Samsung Electronics, more than 30% of customers who preordered the Galaxy S26 series on Samsung.com signed up for the "New Galaxy AI Subscription Club." This subscription club is a program available to customers who purchased the Galaxy S26 series unlocked. Starting this year, Samsung Electronics added compensation for cyber financial crimes, peer-to-peer transactions, and shopping mall fraud to the Samsung Care Plus coverage items.
Customers who preordered the Galaxy S26 series began receiving and activating their devices on the 6th. The Galaxy S26 series will roll out sequentially in about 120 countries, including Korea and the United States, starting on the 11th.
