Korea's reading platform kt Millie's library (hereafter Millie's library) said on the 6th that at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the world's largest mobile communications exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain, it unveiled a range of technologies that support a seamless reading experience.
At this year's MWC, Millie's library presented a vision to redesign reading as a "continuous experience," not a single moment. Under the theme of "connection," it exhibited "Millie Pairing," which links reading environments, and the "AI Deep Reading" service, which supports in-depth reading.
Millie Pairing is a service that, based on OCR (optical character recognition) and STT (speech-to-text) technology, consolidates reading so the flow is not interrupted even if the book format or device changes. It automatically continues your reading position from paper book to e-book and from e-book to audiobook, connecting different reading environments into a single flow. It helps maintain continuity and immersion in reading anytime, anywhere, without constraints of content format or device.
On-site, a Millie Pairing demo used "A Very Private Palace Walk" and the English book "Inside Out 1." When the Millie's library app is launched while reading a paper book, the same page of the e-book is immediately activated, and then switching to listening mode showed how to keep reading continuously even on the move.
Alongside this, it also introduced "AI Deep Reading." It is designed to go beyond simple information searches to help readers understand a book's context in depth. Readers can easily check what they're curious about while reading by conversing with an AI chatbot, and it also provides recommended questions suited to the situation.
At MWC, it unveiled a demo using Korea's official travel guidebook. Visitors could quickly check key information through recommended questions without finishing the book, and they could directly see the process of being immediately linked to the relevant original page along with the answer.
Lim Seok-bin, head of the Millie's library Platform Technology Division, said, "Millie's library is focused on 'how technology changes the reading experience,' and we will work to connect content formats, devices, and reading environments and build an environment where anyone can easily access reading."
