SK Telecom said on the 5th that it received an honor at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026 at MWC26, the world's largest mobile communications fair held in Barcelona, Spain, for its B200-based GPU cluster Haein. Haein is a high-performance GPU infrastructure that forms a single cluster with more than 1,000 NVIDIA B200s equipped with NVIDIA's next-generation AI acceleration chip Blackwell. Based on this, SK Telecom provides GPUaaS (GPU-as-a-Service, a service that offers GPU resources in a cloud format according to customer demand) to customers.
In the best cloud solution institutional sector, for which SK Telecom won with Haein, innovative cloud technologies and services are selected and awarded for accelerating the digital transformation of customers and corporations and presenting new possibilities in the 5G (fifth-generation mobile communications) and artificial intelligence (AI) era.
The cluster name Haein was inspired by Haein Temple, where the Tripitaka Koreana is kept, and carries the meaning of leaping forward as a Korea-style sovereign AI infrastructure that holds the Tripitaka Koreana of the digital age.
Based on Haein, SK Telecom stably provides a computing environment optimized for training and inference of large-scale AI models so customers can flexibly use GPU resources when needed. In particular, the company said it maximized utilization by applying its in-house virtualization solution, Petasus Cloud, to immediately partitioning and reconfigure the GPU cluster according to demand. It also provides AI Cloud Manager, an integrated platform for AI development and operations.
The Haein GPU cluster was selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's AI-computing resource utilization base reinforcement (GPU rental support) program and is supporting the independent AI foundation model project.
With this award, SK Telecom achieved a third consecutive win in the best cloud solution institutional sector. In this sector, SK Telecom won in 2024 for Cloud Radar, which analyzes cloud usage and patterns with AI to manage and optimize them, and last year for Petasus Cloud, a GPU virtualization solution included as a core technology of Haein.
