LG Uplus said it won three awards simultaneously at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, including the top honor, "CTO Choice." GLOMO is an awards program in the mobile communications field organized by the GSM Association (GSMA).
LG Uplus received the CTO Choice, given to the most outstanding technology among the nine winners in the Mobile Tech institutional sector. A judging panel of about 20 CTOs from the global telecom industry selects the "best mobile technology of the year."
AI security technology was cited as the reason for the win. The company said it was the first in the world to apply on-device real-time spoofed voice detection, "Anti-Deepvoice," to the AI agent "ixi-O," and that it reduced the risk of personal data leaks with quantum-resistant cryptography, among other measures. The security suite "ixi-Guardian" also won "Best Network Security & Fraud Prevention." The award is given to technologies that protect customers and network infrastructure and support service continuity amid cyberthreats.
In the Marketing Excellence institutional sector, the company won the newly established "Marketing for Good" award this year. Working with the Korean National Police Agency and the National Forensic Service, it reflected criminal voice samples, report cases, and malicious app patterns in its AI security features, and expanded customer participation through in-store experiences and education, which proved effective. LG Uplus plans to pursue global expansion of AI security and broaden the program.
