Samsung Electronics' "Galaxy S26 Ultra" won "Best in Show" on the 4th (local time) at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC26) in Barcelona, Spain. MWC is the world's largest mobile communications industry trade show organized by the GSM Association (GSMA).
GSMA holds the Global Mobile Awards every year during MWC to honor products and technologies that led innovation in the mobile industry over the year. Among them, Best in Show is regarded as the highest honor, awarded by a panel of expert judges made up of analysts, reporters, and influencers, who select the most innovative product among those on display.
Samsung Electronics said the Galaxy S26 Ultra integrates advanced hardware and software based on One UI 8.5 to work seamlessly, while offering enhanced Galaxy AI along with security and privacy features. It was assessed to deliver an intuitive mobile AI experience that anticipates user needs and provides assistance.
In particular, Samsung Electronics emphasized that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first in the world to feature a "privacy display," showcasing display engineering that maintains clear picture quality while reducing exposure of personal information. The company also said it applied a Galaxy-exclusive chipset to support faster AI experiences and set a standard for mobile experiences that allow anyone to easily use AI.
Choi Seung-eun, head of marketing at Samsung Electronics' MX Division (executive vice president), said, "It is an honor that the Galaxy S26 Ultra won Best in Show, the top exhibition award, at this year's Global Mobile Awards," adding, "As an agentic AI phone that concentrates our capabilities, we will continue to achieve mobile innovation that breaks through technological limits."
