Kakao Creative Foundation said on the 4th that it held the 16th "Grow Up Talk & Talk" at Dreamplus in Gangnam, Seoul, on Feb. 27 for 100 aspiring webtoon and web novel creators.
"Grow Up Talk & Talk" is a free offline lecture program where working KakaoPage webtoon and web novel authors participate to share writing methods, debut processes, serialization strategies, and more. It is operated so that not only aspiring creators but also new and experienced creators can participate, and it began in 2024 and is now in its third year.
At this lecture, authors Yangchikijari, Hwaram, and Stew participated as speakers. They shared cases based on on-the-job experience, including designing serialization-oriented narrative structures, building genre-specific characters, and career management strategies after debut, and introduced actual storyboards and production processes, work routines for serialization, and research methods.
Author Stew said, "My experience attending lectures as an aspiring creator led me to take part this time," and added, "I wanted to be helpful to those who dream of becoming creators."
Kakao Creative Foundation plans to overhaul its creative support program framework in 2026. The free online course for aspiring creators, "Online Creative Academy," will be reorganized into a practice-focused advanced course for story lectures, and music lectures will be added to expand it to a total of 30 sessions. The offline program "Grow Up Talk & Talk" will be operated in the form of regular forums in the story and music fields.
It will also continue its webtoon creative space support program and, in the music field, run support programs in parallel such as live performance and festival appearance support for indie artists, title sponsorship for the Korean Music Awards, and creative support for new artists.
A Kakao Creative Foundation official said, "We will establish a growth foundation for creators through a phased support system that connects online and offline," and added, "We will continue projects to support the creative ecosystem in cooperation with Kakao Entertainment."
