Kolon Benit said on the 4th that it will officially sponsor the "2026 2nd Global Quantum AI Competition" to discover next-generation quantum and artificial intelligence (AI) talent and expand the global technology ecosystem.
This sponsorship is Kolon Benit's first activity to participate in the quantum industry ecosystem after recently being selected as an executive member of the Korea Quantum Industry Association (KQIA), and is part of a strategy to strengthen a cooperation model that consolidates industry, technology and business.
Planned to expand user experience with quantum cloud services and foster next-generation quantum AI talent, the competition scaled up the first event to a global level and significantly increased the total prize money to five times that of the previous competition.
Sejong Special Self-Governing City, Rigetti Computing, Korea University's Quantum Graduate School, KT Cloud, Kolon Benit and FuturePlay officially sponsored the event, and Sejong Technopark, the National Quantum Information Science Club Association (QISCA), Germany's Qudora, the United Kingdom's Quantum Software Lab (QSL) and Singapore's PQCee collaborated.
At the finals awards ceremony of the "2026 2nd Global Quantum AI Competition," held on the 27th at the headquarters of quantum computing corporation Norma, seven teams won including the grand prize and received a total of 25 million won.
A Kolon Benit official said, "We plan to expand the industrial applicability of quantum technology based on our artificial intelligence transformation (AX) and digital transformation (DX) capabilities," adding, "Together with major corporations such as LG Electronics, KT, SKT, Megazone Cloud and Norma, we will participate in the association's key decision-making and activities and play a responsible role in the sustainable growth of the domestic quantum industry."
