HP Korea said on the 4th that it has appointed Kang Yong-nam as its new managing director. As the new head, Kang will oversee HP Korea's Korea business and move to strengthen competitiveness across the corporations and consumer markets, focusing on AI-based PCs and next-generation printing solutions. In particular, as the shift to AI- and cloud-based work environments accelerates, the company plans to push an integrated solutions strategy to boost productivity and security.
Kang Yong-nam is a leader with more than 25 years of experience in the global IT industry, having led consumer and commercial businesses across Korea and the Asia-Pacific region and overseen regional strategy, operations and growth. He also has experience driving digital transformation and service-based business innovation across the technology industry.
In particular, Kang previously served as an executive in the Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) group at HP Korea, where he led commercial sales strategy. Based on his deep understanding of HP's organization and the Korea market, stable execution of strategic priorities and a swift organizational ramp-up are expected.
