LG Electronics said it will offer a monthlong air conditioner pre-inspection service from Mar. 3 to Mar. 31 to prepare for summer heat.
If an air conditioner is not used for a long time, dust can build up on the internal filter or refrigerant circulation may not be smooth. With a pre-inspection, users can keep the unit in optimal condition — maintaining cooling performance, minimizing power consumption, and ensuring clean air quality — so they can use the product comfortably and conveniently even during peak season when usage increases. The number of customers who requested pre-inspections last year rose more than 20% from the previous year.
Customers can apply for the pre-inspection through the LG Electronics website or customer service center, and both the visit fee and inspection fee are free. If parts need to be replaced or refrigerant needs to be charged, a separate expense may be incurred.
When customers apply for a pre-inspection, an LG Electronics engineer visits their home and uses AI technology to check the air conditioner's cooling performance, refrigerant status, power and wiring connections, and the hygiene of the filter and drain hose. The product is connected wirelessly through the "LG Smart Check" app to control and inspect parts without disassembly. It analyzes real-time operating information and past data to provide faster, more accurate diagnostics.
Customers who find it inconvenient or difficult to receive the pre-inspection service can check their air conditioner themselves. The "Smart Diagnosis" feature in the LG ThinQ app inspects the operating status of key parts — including the inverter, fan motor, compressor, and pressure, temperature, and current sensors — and the refrigerant status at a level similar to a technician's visit, and informs users of any abnormalities.
LG Electronics also provides easy, step-by-step self-check guides on its website and YouTube channel, including how to check the power connection status, replace remote control batteries, and clean indoor unit filters.
In addition, a "spring home appliance cleaning discount event" is underway, offering a 10% fee discount for customers who need professional air conditioner cleaning services such as internal and filter cleaning, high-pressure cleaning of the heat exchanger, and steam sterilization. Cleaning services can be requested through the LG Electronics customer service center and the LG Electronics website.
