Qualcomm said on the 26th that it unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation mobile platform that supports the Galaxy S26 series.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation is installed in the Galaxy S26 Ultra worldwide and in the Galaxy S26 Plus and S26 in some regions except Korea.
It supports more personalized smartphone features through the 3rd-generation custom Qualcomm Oryon central processing unit (CPU), Qualcomm Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU), and Qualcomm Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
Qualcomm and Samsung worked closely to optimize the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation for Galaxy for the latest Galaxy AI experience. It was designed to provide features tailored to user contexts and to ensure stable operation of functions that automatically perform background tasks.
Wireless performance has also been improved. Qualcomm Smart Transmit technology integrates and manages transmission power for 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and satellite links to boost upload speeds and maintain connection stability.
Kwon Oh-hyung, head of Qualcomm APAC (Asia-Pacific), said, "This outcome shows the solid strategic partnership between the two companies," and added, "It well reflects the companies' goal of delivering AI-accelerated performance and a seamless user experience across Samsung's flagship devices."
