The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, a day before Samsung Electronics' "Galaxy S26 Unpacked" event, was bustling with preparations. On the 24th (local time), installation work and route checks continued around the venue, and event staff were focused on final preparations.
It has been six years since Samsung Electronics chose this location again after 2020. At the time, Samsung Electronics held a Galaxy Unpacked event here and unveiled the "Galaxy Z Flip," regarded as a new form factor (exterior), along with the "Galaxy S20" series for the first time.
The Palace of Fine Arts is a signature landmark of San Francisco, built for the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition. Featuring a massive dome and classical columns, the structure was created as an art exhibition space, but it is now used as a symbolic venue for major announcements and large-scale events by global corporations.
Security personnel were deployed in the exterior areas surrounding the venue to restrict public access, and a banner announcing "Galaxy Unpacked 2026" was installed near the entrance. However, in consideration of its cultural value and the characteristics of the exhibition space, large structures and excessive decorations were kept to a minimum. Overall, the restrained staging subtly conveyed only the sense that the event was imminent.
The Palace of Fine Arts has hosted many large-scale global events in the past and is characterized by its open outdoor space and historical symbolism. In the industry, this San Francisco landmark is being evaluated as a suitable stage to draw the attention of global media and industry officials.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is set to hold an Unpacked (unveiling) event at this location on the 25th (local time) to reveal the Galaxy S26 series.
