Shinsegae I&C said on the 24th it will launch the enterprise subscription cloud service "Spharos One."
"Spharos One" is built on the Nutanix Cloud Platform. It offers a flexible Cloud-as-a-Service subscription model so corporations can build private cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms without large upfront investment. The company said it can cut total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 25% compared with conventional on-premises infrastructure.
It is also tailored for corporations shifting from on-premises environments, corporations that need infrastructure expansion and unified management due to rapid data growth, and corporations seeking to modernize existing IT infrastructure by transferring to a private cloud.
Shinsegae I&C is an authorized service provider (ASP) of Nutanix and has secured proven operational capabilities through large-scale cloud build-outs for HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Dongwon Group, and BNK Financial Group. With this collaboration as a turning point, the company plans to expand its build-centric infrastructure business structure into a subscription service and strengthen its enterprise-specialized service lineup to reinforce new growth drivers.
Byun Jae-geun, president of Nutanix Korea, said, "The two companies will help corporations establish the foundation needed to modernize private clouds and safely scale AI workloads applied to core operations."
Jeong Pil-seung, head of CloudBIZ at Shinsegae I&C, said, "Through collaboration with Nutanix, we will expand our business structure into a service-type private cloud business and grow into a full-stack cloud corporations that supports corporations' successful AX (AI transformation) by broadening a service lineup that goes beyond infrastructure."
