HANCOM set a record for its best performance last year. Analysts said steady demand for artificial intelligence (AI) agent product lines, coupled with the effect of changing the revenue structure, drove the results.
HANCOM said on the 23rd that on a separate basis, revenue rose 10.2% from a year earlier to 175.3 billion won last year. Operating profit increased 2.4% over the same period to 50.9 billion won. Both revenue and operating profit grew for the third straight year.
HANCOM said the change in its revenue structure led to record results. Breaking out of the confines of the limited packaged software market, HANCOM introduced a model in which users pay as much as they use AI functions, or an AI-optimized license model linked to the size of corporations. The company said steady demand for HANCOM Assistant, particularly in the public and financial sectors, formed a stable revenue base.
Data optimization technology also contributed to the improved performance. HANCOM said, "By leveraging our technology to convert unstructured document data into AI training data, we secured a first-mover advantage in the market."
HANCOM said this year it will concentrate its technical resources to integrate organically with global technology platforms and rise as an "AI orchestration" corporations that coordinates different AIs to collaborate. To that end, it will lead the "Model Context Protocol (MCP)" standard so AI agents can be used immediately, and pursue a "micro agent" strategy in which small AI modules optimized for specific roles integrate organically with HANCOM Assistant.
Chief Executive Kim Yeon-su of HANCOM said, "HANCOM will be reborn as a leading AI orchestration corporations that makes AI work most efficiently among global platforms, and will lead the global AI transformation (AX) market."
