LG Uplus said on the 22nd that it will take part in MWC26, the world's largest telecommunications expo, opening on Feb. 2 (local time) in Barcelona, Spain, to showcase artificial intelligence (AI)-based future technologies.
This year's MWC, under the theme "a future where consolidation and functionality converge," will feature more than 200 countries and about 2,700 corporations presenting a wide range of technologies and services.
LG Uplus will set up a large, standalone booth of 872 square meters (about 264 pyeong) at the center of Hall 3 in the core venue, Fira Gran Via, with the theme of "people-centered AI" that leads safety and trust, personalization, and convenience. In particular, it will present a future vision in which "ixi-O," evolving into a voice-based, hyper-personalized agentic AI, meets physical AI to change everyday life.
In addition, it will unveil: ▲ a personalized "AICC" (AI contact center) that cares for customers' emotions ▲ an "AIDC" (AI data center) that secured world-class competitiveness in collaboration with LG Group affiliates ▲ "Autonomous NW," which applies AI across the entire network to make judgments and take action on its own ▲ the security solution brand "ixi-Guardian 2.0" ▲ an anti-voice phishing prevention/response solution that combines telecommunications and finance ▲ and "Sovereign AI," developed in partnership with LG AI Research Institute and Furiosa.
"People-centered AI" will also be realized through a hyper-personalized media art exhibition. LG Uplus will present a digital experience that combines AI and art in collaboration with Universal Everything, a global media art group based in the United Kingdom.
At this MWC, key executives, including President Hong Bum-Shik of LG Uplus, will attend to review services and technologies from diverse corporations around the world and discuss cooperation with global big tech corporations in various fields such as AI, networks, and platforms. Timed to the opening of MWC, Hong will deliver a keynote speech on the full-fledged era of "AI call agents."
Jang Jun-young, head of marketing at LG Uplus (senior vice president), said, "By showcasing technology that enables the consolidation of people to people through people-centered AI, we will promote LG Uplus' efforts to create a brighter world to the global audience."
