Nexon said on the 19th that its sandbox creation platform MapleStory World released a settlement of account infographic summarizing key achievements in 2025, reporting a global cumulative user base of 7 million and creators' annual revenue of 50.2 billion won.
Creators' annual revenue on MapleStory World in 2025 was 50.2 billion won, up about 234% from 22.2 billion won a year earlier. The number of creator teams that generated revenue surpassed 10,000, expanding more than fivefold from the previous year, and among them, 12 teams recorded more than 1 billion won in annual revenue.
Behind the growth is the creator support program "M-World Next." Nexon doubled the number of teams supported by the program in 2025 to 20 from the previous year, and the selected teams recorded a total of 2.9 billion won in revenue for the year. Of the participants, 83% had less than three years of development experience, and 16% were beginners with no development experience. Nexon plans to provide selected teams with $3,500 per month in development grants for six months in 2026.
The platform's global expansion also continued. MapleStory World began full global service in April 2025 across 197 countries, including North America, Europe and Asia, and surpassed 7 million cumulative users worldwide.
In Taiwan, it ranked No. 1 on the local gaming community "Bahamut" popularity chart and won the gold prize in the "PC Game of the Year" category at the Bahamut Game Animation Awards 2025.
It also showcased cases of expanding social value, such as operating "Liberation Quiz" content commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation through a collaboration on the "Q-Play Archive" world proposed by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
Shin Min-seok, executive director overseeing MapleStory World, said, "2025 was a year when creators' and users' participation came together to confirm the platform's global potential," adding, "In 2026, we will strengthen support for creators and leap forward as a sandbox platform built together."
