YouTube, home screen access outage… 300,000 reports in the U.S. On the morning of the 18th, a notice saying "A problem occurred" appeared on YouTube's mobile and web services, and a disruption occurred in which some functions did not work smoothly.
According to the IT industry on the 18th, subscriptions, search, and video viewing are possible, but the problems appear concentrated on initial screen access such as home screen loading and recommended video displays.
On the outage monitoring site Downdetector, reports surged from the morning, with more than 300,000 filed in the United States alone. During the same time, YouTube TV and Google also had about 9,000 and about 2,000 access outage reports, respectively.
Content delivery network (CDN) provider Cloudflare announced that a problem occurred in the certificate issuance process of Google Trust Services. Google Trust Services also acknowledged the related issue and said it would roll out a patch at about 1 p.m. on the 18th, Korea time.
Users complained on social media that the Home tab looked empty, and intermittent errors were reported in Korea as well.
