Esports team T1 and the Navy's Force Analysis Test and Evaluation Group have begun cooperating to respond to the future digital operational environment.
T1 said on the 13th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Navy's Force Analysis Test and Evaluation Group. The two sides agreed to jointly seek ways to strengthen the Navy's cognition, command-and-control, and analysis modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities and to integrate technologies and data from the gaming and esports fields.
Attendees at the signing included Kim Hyeong-jun, head of the Navy's Force Analysis Test and Evaluation Group, and An Ung-gi, T1 chief operating officer (COO), among other officials.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue: ▲ activation of gaming functions in Navy M&S models ▲ research on using esports team tactics to advance military tactics ▲ joint research on game data-based tactical analysis ▲ co-hosting of academic conferences and seminars.
T1 said it will cooperate to apply strategy and tactics data accumulated in games and its analysis capabilities to the military's digital transformation environment. The Navy said it will strengthen the foundation for future force development through cooperation in modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
