LG Electronics said on the 12th that it received the Performance Award from the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) for the ninth consecutive year.
Each year, AHRI randomly selects manufacturers' products by product category through designated testing organizations in each field, including the global testing and certification agency Intertek, to evaluate whether the actual performance of the products matches their specifications. To receive the Performance Award in a given category, every product subject to evaluation must pass the first-round performance test for three consecutive years.
LG Electronics has received the Performance Award every year since 2018. This year, six product categories won: ▲ variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems ▲ air-cooled condensing unit (ACCL) systems ▲ water-cooled condensing unit (WCCL) systems ▲ air handling units (AHU) ▲ air-cooled heat exchanger for chiller (ACHC) ▲ residential water heater heat pump (RWH).
LG Electronics' VRF system product "Multi V 5" applies air to air heat pump technology implemented with a proprietary high-efficiency inverter compressor. The company said its three-stage compression technology also improves heating efficiency. It also controls the optimal refrigerant charge in real time. Stable operation is possible even in extreme cold and heat.
LG Electronics' air-cooled scroll chiller is a commercial product that applies an inverter scroll compressor. The water-cooled chiller, which removes condensing heat using cooling water, is characterized by excellent operating efficiency. It is used for process cooling such as central HVAC in medium and large buildings, district heating and cooling, cleanrooms for semiconductor processes, and data center cooling. The residential heat pump water heater, which earned ENERGY STAR certification for stable hot water supply and heating efficiency, was included in the Performance Award for the first time this year.
Lee Jae-sung, head of the ES Business Division at LG Electronics (president), said, "With differentiated quality and technology recognized for nine consecutive years in AHRI's rigorous performance evaluation, we will continue to introduce more efficient and customer-friendly products in the global HVAC market, including the United States."
