Humax Mobility said on the 11th that it completed construction of the Mobility Hub Center, a core facility of Seongnam City's mobility-specialized city project, and unveiled an integrated mobility infrastructure that combines AI-based parking management and car-sharing services.
The Mobility Hub Center was created on a site of about 1,931 square meters inside Seongnam Sports Complex in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. As a complex base that provides AI-based smart parking systems and car-sharing services in one space, it sits near Moran Station and serves as a transportation node consolidating the old and new downtowns.
Through this project, Humax Mobility commercialized its in-house developed AI parking solution "Ai-PAS (AI Parking Assistance System)" for outdoor parking lots. Using AI video analytics, Ai-PAS can track in real time the parking status of up to 12 spaces with a single camera, and its license plate recognition rate topped 99.9%.
The company said that if the adoption of autonomous vehicles expands going forward, it expects to scale services such as unmanned valet parking and optimal parking route guidance through real-time data linkage between vehicles and the parking system. It also noted that, based on data from more than 1,400 parking lots operated by subsidiary Hi Parking, it can further enhance functions such as fire detection and security monitoring.
The Mobility Hub Center has a total of 45 parking spaces, 10 of which are designated for car sharing. Turucar one-way car-sharing vehicles operated by PeopleCar, a Humax Mobility subsidiary, are stationed there, making it a base where users can freely rent and return vehicles not only within Seongnam but across the greater Seoul area.
Chief Executive Jeong Seong-min of Humax Mobility said, "The Mobility Hub Center is more than a simple parking space; it is transportation infrastructure where AI technology and diverse mobility services are combined," adding, "Aligned with Seongnam City's mobility-specialized city policy, it will help improve citizens' travel convenience."
