In response to criticism that media policy is fragmented by ministry, Kim said, "There are issues that require coordination of interests or accurate understanding, so we are proceeding with a comprehensive discussion," adding, "In line with the government's work-centered policy stance, we are considering forming a policy council with participation from relevant ministries." The Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC) currently handles policies related to terrestrial broadcasters, program providers (PPs), cable TV, and IPTV. The Ministry of Science and ICT is responsible for platforms, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism handles content promotion.
