It has been confirmed that Wemade Plus, a subsidiary of Wemade, was declared bankrupt. The corporate liquidation process has been completed after the end of its flagship game service.
According to legal sources on the 9th, the Third Bankruptcy Division of the Suwon Bankruptcy Court declared Wemade Plus bankrupt on the 5th.
Wemade Plus is a mobile casual game development subsidiary of Wemade, and its flagship title is the mobile fishing game "World Fishing Championship." The game was released in about 170 countries in 2023, excluding Korea and China, but its service ended in 2024.
The domestic version, "Fishing Strike," was released in 2018, with publishing handled by Netmarble. This game also ended its service in 2021.
A Wemade official said, "There were no projects under development after the game service ended in 2024, and all employees resigned in the same year," adding, "We then proceeded with corporate liquidation procedures, which were recently completed."
