Wemade Connect said on the 9th that it has begun developing a mobile game based on Kodansha's original publishing and content IP "HUNDRED NOTE."
The project was unveiled through Wemade Max, and Wemade Connect plans to develop a mobile collectible idle role-playing game (RPG) using the HUNDRED NOTE IP.
HUNDRED NOTE is Kodansha's mystery and detective IP unveiled in May 2023, and it has drawn attention for its unique universe, a cast of up to 100 characters, and artwork by renowned illustrators. A web animation using the IP has recorded a cumulative 1.6 billion views on YouTube, and the official YouTube channel has more than 1.6 million subscribers, building a global fandom.
Wemade Connect plans to capture in the game the structure of solving cases with diverse characters, based on the original universe set in a near-future city where public safety has deteriorated due to rising crime. Centering on the main story, it will combine investigation, combat, and character collection elements to raise completeness as a women-oriented subculture title.
Chief Executive Lee Ho-dae of Wemade Connect said, "Through our experience servicing games in Japan, we have built development and operations know-how for titles based on local IP," and added, "We will reinterpret the expansive and character-rich HUNDRED NOTE as a game and present a work that meets the expectations of global users."
The mobile game based on the HUNDRED NOTE IP is under development for an official launch in the fourth quarter of this year, with plans to release first in Japan and then gradually expand service regions to global markets, including Korea.
