Devsisters on the 6th presented "expansion" and "evolution" as this year's key words and said it will pursue short- and long-term growth strategies based on the Cookie Run IP.
Devsisters plans to broaden the scope of Cookie Run IP use and strengthen the growth base of corporations by upgrading the IP structure around live games, diversifying genres and platforms, and expanding offline experiences.
First, Devsisters will ramp up a "multi-universe IP" strategy that organically connects about 500 characters and its worldbuilding. While each game keeps its independent fun, it will be designed to link at the universe level to raise IP utilization efficiency and reduce the burden of introducing new characters and expanding new titles.
The flagship title Cookie Run: Kingdom will wrap up Act 1 of its existing story in March and unfold a new narrative based on a multi-universe structure. It will also sequentially roll out cross-content with Cookie Run: OvenBreak.
It will also continue to expand genres and platforms with new titles. Starting with the real-time battle action game Cookie Run: OvenSmash, it will expand platforms from a mobile-centered structure to PC and consoles through the casual RPG Project CC and the Unreal Engine-based open-world 3D action RPG Project N. Project N is under development with a goal of unveiling it in 2029, the 20th anniversary of the Cookie Run IP.
Alongside this, Devsisters plans to expand offline touchpoints such as exhibitions, pop-ups, fan festivals and esports to establish Cookie Run as a cultural content beyond games. Spurred by the recent special exhibition at Deoksugung Dondeokjeon and collaboration with traditional culture, it is widening the IP's scope of use to areas outside of games.
According to Devsisters, sales of character merchandise have risen rapidly in recent days, and it plans to strengthen IP synergy through a structure that links offline experiences with digital content.
