Huawei Korea said on the 5th that it held an education and technology exchange program for a joint overseas study group from Seoul National University and Jeonbuk National University at its headquarters in Shenzhen, China, and its Dongguan campus.
The visit was organized to allow students to directly experience global technology innovation sites and broaden the interface between academia and industry under the themes of education and technology exchange and future-oriented cooperation.
The group toured Huawei's Shenzhen headquarters and Dongguan campus and heard explanations about the research and development (R&D) environment, global business strategy, and cases of applying information and communication technology (ICT) to industry and daily life. On core areas such as networks, AI, and smart devices, on-site briefings and Q&A sessions were held, followed by questions about Huawei's ideal talent profile and hiring criteria.
The visit is part of the "JBNU & SNU Joint Program in China," jointly run by Seoul National University and Jeonbuk National University. It was planned to experience China's big tech innovation sites through cooperation with a region-based national university and to enhance global awareness and industry understanding. The group comprised 46 people in total, including faculty such as Professor Lee Gang-jae of Seoul National University and Professor Kim Jung-soo of Jeonbuk National University, and 40 students from both schools.
Huawei Korea plans to use this program as an opportunity to explore the sustainability of industry-academia and academic exchanges and expand cooperation with domestic universities based on global education cooperation programs such as the "Huawei ICT Academy" and the "Huawei ICT Competition."
Balian Wang, CEO of Huawei Korea, said, "We have contributed to Korean society through sustainable talent development, and this cooperation will lay the foundation for talent development in 2026."
