As demand for power semiconductors rises amid growth in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, DB HiTek, which manufactures them, was tallied to have posted strong results.
On the 5th, DB HiTek disclosed that, on a consolidation basis, last year's revenue was 1.3972 trillion won and operating profit was 277.3 billion won. Revenue rose 24% from a year earlier, and operating profit increased 45%. Fourth-quarter operating profit last year was 70.4 billion won, up 99% from a year earlier. Revenue and net profit were 387.8 billion won and 54 billion won, respectively.
DB HiTek set this year's targets at 1.5 trillion won in revenue and 300 billion won in operating profit. DB HiTek said, "We expect an annual utilization rate of 98% this year by maximizing capacity utilization through an optimal product mix," adding, "Amid China's push for domestic semiconductor production and strong demand for high-voltage power semiconductors, we plan to expand our dominance in the high-voltage power semiconductor market based on our competitive edge in customer-tailored services. We will maintain a price premium strategy versus the market and continue management focused on profitability."
This year, the foundry market is expected to grow 16% from a year earlier, while the 8-inch market, a key product segment, is forecast to grow 4% amid stagnant production capacity. According to market research firm TrendForce, 8-inch supply will decrease 2.4% from a year earlier, and the 8-inch average selling price (ASP) is projected to rise 5–20%.
