SOCAR said on Feb. 4 it will roll out a year-round campaign, "Stress-Free," to reduce inconveniences and burdens that arise during car-sharing.
The campaign focuses on easing the psychological and economic burdens users face throughout the entire process, from booking a vehicle to returning it. SOCAR said it will proactively manage factors that hinder travel experiences, such as unexpected schedule changes or additional expense, to provide a more convenient and stable car-sharing environment.
As the first service of the campaign, the company is introducing an "aircraft delay and cancellation care service" for Jeju travelers. If a flight to Jeju is delayed or canceled, it will refund the fee for the time the vehicle could not be used or adjust the usage time to match the schedule change. If a trip to Jeju is canceled due to a flight cancellation, the full payment will be refunded, and if a departing flight from Jeju to the mainland is delayed, the vehicle usage time will be extended free of charge by the length of the delay.
For example, if a trip is canceled due to a flight cancellation, a full refund is available with no cancellation fee, and if the arrival flight to Jeju is delayed by two hours and the start of the vehicle lending is pushed back, the fee for that time can be refunded. If the return flight is delayed by heavy snow, the vehicle usage time will be automatically extended to match the delay.
The service applies when users book a vehicle in a Jeju SOCAR Zone with the "full coverage" option and enter their flight number. SOCAR plans to reduce schedule disruptions and the burden of reservation cancellations caused by frequent flight delays and cancellations in the Jeju area.
Ahead of this campaign, SOCAR has also made service improvements to enhance user convenience. Notable examples include "free EV driving fees," which waives driving charges for electric vehicles regardless of mileage, and "Bureum parking fee guarantee," which refunds parking fees incurred when using the vehicle pickup and return service "Bureum." Benefits related to the campaign will be provided continuously through a dedicated page in the app.
Namgung Ho, head of SOCAR's car-sharing division, said, "We planned this campaign noting that small inconveniences during travel can significantly affect the overall experience," and added, "We will continue to reflect users' voices in our services so they can focus on the joy of travel without stress."
