Apple said on the 4th that Xcode 26.3 integrates coding agents such as Claude Agent from Anthropic and Codex from OpenAI to support an "agentic coding" feature that helps developers build apps more efficiently.
The update lets developers manage projects more autonomously within Xcode and work with AI-based agents to handle complex tasks quickly and efficiently.
Xcode 26.3 expands existing AI-based features so coding agents can support a range of development tasks, including collecting Xcode Previews, building and modifying, and navigating file structures. This lets developers process repetitive tasks faster and significantly speed up turning ideas into reality.
Apple Vice President Susan Prescott said, "Agentic coding maximizes developers' productivity and creativity and provides an environment where they can focus on true innovation."
Starting on the 4th, Xcode 26.3 is available as a Release Candidate to all members of the Apple Developer Program and is expected to be officially released soon.
