Koh Young Technology said in a filing on the 2nd that last year's fourth-quarter revenue was provisionally tallied at 69.1 billion won, up 36% from a year earlier. Operating profit during the period was 6.9 billion won, swinging to a profit. Compared with the previous quarter, it increased 48%.
The company said, "Fueled by North America and Taiwan server customers, sales of three-dimensional (3D) inspection equipment and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions (SW) expanded, driving companywide growth." Sales of 3D AOI (automated optical inspection for component mounting) and AI solutions posted a record quarterly high.
A Koh Young official said, "As demand for 3D inspection equipment and AI solutions centered on AI server customers is being confirmed, we expect the growth trend to continue," adding, "The medical robot for brain surgery secured approval from the U.S. FDA and, additionally, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and shipments are expected to gradually expand in global markets starting in 2026."
The official added, "Given that medical devices, by industry nature, take a long time from basic research to commercialization, overseas approvals, and market entry, last year's approval process was not as fast as expected, but we are accelerating market penetration and diversifying sales channels by gradually expanding distribution networks such as dealerships."
