NC AI said on the 29th that it unveiled the beta service of the generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based sound production service VARCO Sound.
VARCO Sound is a multimodal AI service that generates sound based on text, image, and video inputs, and it features a multitrack structure that can generate and edit multiple sounds included in a single scene as individual tracks. NC AI said this enables fine-grained sound editing that was difficult with the conventional single-audio generation method.
The service automatically generates suitable sounds by analyzing the context of sentences entered by users or images and videos they upload. The generated sounds are provided as multitracks separated by sound effect units, allowing users to perform post-editing work such as adjusting the volume of specific sounds or replacing individual elements.
VARCO Sound also applies a Variation feature that creates diverse variations while maintaining the same sound texture. The company said this allows users to quickly compare and select multiple versions of a sound, reducing the burden of repetitive work in the early stages of production.
The beta service will be operated in connection with VARCO 3D, a three-dimensional generative AI previously introduced by NC AI, and its voice AI technology. By expanding its services into the sound domain, NC AI is building a multimodal AI portfolio that spans text, images, voice, and 3D.
The technology applied to VARCO Sound is a commercialized outcome based on sound generation and conversion technology unveiled last year at INTERSPEECH 2025, an international voice AI conference. During the beta period, NC AI plans to enhance quality by reflecting user feedback and aims for an official launch in the first half of the year.
NC AI CEO Lee Yeon-su said, "VARCO Sound is a technology that helps turn sounds from imagination into actual production assets," adding, "we will continue to expand technologies that can be used across the entire content production environment based on our multimodal AI capabilities."
NC AI plans to sequentially introduce a plugin-type service that can be used directly in game engines and professional audio editing software.
