SK hynix warns memory shortages deepen as customer inventories plunge

SK hynix said on the 29th in a conference call that customers' memory inventory levels are generally declining rapidly. In particular, for server customers, when volumes increase they immediately lead to set builds, meaning inventory is being consumed right away rather than accumulating.

SK hynix said, "With customers finding it difficult to secure sufficient inventory, memory is being depleted quickly," and added, "Centered on server DRAM, we expect customer inventory levels to fall further into the second half." It noted that NAND flash inventory is also decreasing mainly among service customers, and that the company's own inventory levels for both DRAM and NAND are also coming down quickly.
