LG Electronics said on the 28th that it created a space where people can regularly experience the modular home "LG Smart Cottage (Smart Cottage)," which brings together artificial intelligence (AI) appliances and heating and cooling technologies.
LG Electronics recently joined hands with a local young entrepreneurs' group, "Ohu Cooperative," in Juksan-myeon, Gimje, North Jeolla Province, to open a multiuse cultural space, "Juksan Morak." This is the first time a Smart Cottage is being used as an accommodation that can be experienced year-round rather than as a pop-up showroom. The company said the move is aimed at keeping pace with growth in Korea's modular construction market, which it estimates will reach 4.4 trillion won in 2030.
Juksan Morak is equipped with two single-story Mono (MONO) models and two duplex Duo (DUO) models. Mono consists of a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom on one floor. Duo features living spaces such as a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor, with the second floor arranged as a bedroom.
Both models come with LG Electronics' AI appliances, including a refrigerator, built-in induction cooktop, lightwave oven, dishwasher, WashTower and StanbyME.
Cho Yeon-woo, head of the Smart Cottage Company at LG Electronics, said, "LG Smart Cottage will be a good option not only for customers who want a modular home where they can relax like their own house, but also for B2B operators preparing leisure and tourism businesses."
