Dassault Systèmes said on the 27th that it joined hands with industrial automation corporations Autonics to advance its PLM (product lifecycle management) system and build an integrated information system for research and development (R&D) based on the latest standard framework for research and development innovation.
A Dassault Systèmes official said, "We will provide a single solution that supports upgrades of the solutions Autonics has been using and integrated management, improving design quality and enabling more efficient quality control."
Founded in 1977, Autonics is an automation solutions specialist that makes industrial processes easy and convenient. It provides comprehensive automation solutions for building smart factories, including sensors, controllers, safety, and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition). It currently has more than 100 global network bases.
With the 3D Experience platform, Autonics plans to build a unified integrated information system for research and development based on companywide digital transformation and strengthen data consistency and collaboration efficiency across research and development.
Through the 3D Experience platform, Dassault Systèmes supports a single-platform-based PLM upgrade. Specifically, it handles unification of integrated change processes, advancement of the bill of materials (BOM) structure, and establishment of a 3D-based enterprise work environment.
Autonics said it will implement product information consistency, optimization of product development processes, improved work efficiency and convenience, enhanced readability, an improved work environment for designers, and greater efficiency in managing product BOM information by building this latest standard framework integrated information system for R&D innovation.
