Cookie Run: OvenBreak (hereafter Cookie Run), developed by Devsisters' development studio Oven Games, announced this year's operation plan through a YouTube live broadcast on the 26th.
Devsisters said on the 27th that to mark Cookie Run's 10th anniversary, it will pursue "expansion of the universe structure" and "strengthening of core content."
It plans to continue broadening story lines such as the narratives of the Time Bureau and Dark Enchantress Cookie, which have represented Cookie Run, the wuxia-themed "Muryungbirim," which depicts a duel between Black Mage Leader Cookie and Doomsday Weapon Cookie introduced last year, and "Sugar Nova Odyssey," set against a universe in peril due to a black hole. In particular, the story surrounding the Time Bureau and Dark Enchantress Cookie will expand into the "Cookie Run Universe," a structure that runs through the entire Cookie Run intellectual property (IP).
It will also advance the core content that has expanded fun elements for nearly 10 years, from the relay run "Escape the Island" to "Cookie's Challenge," which carries out various cookie missions, "Raid Run," which adds the fun of cooperative action, and the user-creation system "Map Maker."
It will add a new episode of Escape the Island set against the backdrop of the new Murim Birim story and add diversity to character play with Relay Cookie's Challenge, which introduces a region-combination system. In addition, through the "Spirit Cookie's Power" season, it will expand the fun of random challenges, and for Raid Run, it plans to maximize role-playing game (RPG) elements combined with running play by adding strategy elements by class.
In October, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of service, it will also hold an unprecedented festival, including a large-scale update, offline events, and a global world championship.
