LG Electronics will step up its push into the commercial display market by introducing new "LG Magnit" micro light-emitting diode (LED) signage.
LG Electronics will unveil new "LG Magnit" products at ISE 2026, Europe's largest commercial display exhibition, held in Barcelona, Spain, for four days starting on the 3rd (local time) next month.
LG Electronics' Magnit is a blend of "magnificent" and the unit of luminance "nit," and is a product with enhanced brightness and picture quality. The company said ultra-high definition, screen scalability and installation convenience have been strengthened, making it optimized for various commercial spaces such as exhibition halls, large auditoriums and conference rooms, premium stores, broadcasters and situation rooms.
LG Electronics said it has strengthened services to improve convenience in installation, operation and maintenance for B2B customers who choose LG Magnit.
The company cited the "LTD" feature as a representative example. Due to the nature of installation environments, commercial LED displays can inevitably have individual light sources fail to operate because of external factors. In such cases, because the driver IC generally controls light sources by rows, it can appear as if an entire line is not functioning. However, the LTD feature of the new LG Magnit preemptively responds at the dot level, not by rows, when such a situation occurs, minimizing impact to a single minute light source.
Installation convenience has also been enhanced to match its infinitely expandable design, in which cabinets (the basic building unit of LED signage) can be easily attached like blocks. The product is slimmer than before, and it uses technology that allows easy fine adjustment of level differences.
For large signage, multiple LED cabinets are combined to form a screen, so technology that makes the surface flat like a single screen without level differences between cabinets is important. Previously, to adjust level differences between cabinets, one had to work from the back and then check again from the front, but LG Magnit uses patented technology to finely adjust the level from the front, greatly reducing the time required to install a large screen.
The distance between the cabinet and the controller can be extended up to 10 km for installation. By using optical cables instead of short Ethernet cables, long-distance installation between the cabinet and controller is possible, allowing operation from a separate space such as a control center without placing the controller near the cabinet.
LG Magnit applies the company's proprietary "front black coating." This technology renders deep blacks to maximize contrast and also improves the color accuracy of LED elements to deliver high image quality. It also reduces direct exposure of LED elements to moisture, dust and external impacts, enhancing durability.
