LG Electronics said on the 21st it will unveil its 2026 Whisen lineup featuring, for the first time, the "artificial intelligence (AI) Cold-Free" function that controls temperature and humidity at once. The 2026 "LG Whisen Objet Collection Tower I" and "LG Whisen Objet Collection View I Pro" air conditioners will be available for purchase starting on the 22nd.
The new lineup consists of the Objet Collection-designed "Tower 1 (9 series)" and the View Case-designed "View 1 Pro (6 series)" and features ▲AI Cold-Free ▲AI wind ▲AI voice recognition ▲AI sleep. The display has grown from 4.3 inches to 6.8 inches. Based on the 18-pyeong 2-in-1 (combined two-unit) model, Tower 1 is priced at 5.45 million–5.97 million won. View 1 Pro is set at 4.2 million–4.82 million won. With a subscription (regular use), prices start at 93,900 won per month (six years, Light Plus plan). LG Electronics will offer up to 250,000 won in cashback to all customers who purchase or subscribe to the new products.
AI Cold-Free, applied for the first time to this year's lineup, is a function that allows customized settings for temperature and humidity. The company said, "With existing products, if cooling continues, indoor humidity rises, and if dehumidification continues to remove moisture in the air, indoor temperature drops more than necessary," and noted, "Actively reflecting customers' desire for cooling that is both refreshing and dry, we developed a new function that lowers humidity while maintaining temperature."
With an air conditioner's conventional dehumidification, air carrying moisture loses water as it passes through a cold heat exchanger, causing the temperature to keep dropping. When you press the AI Cold-Free button, AI controls humidity while not making the air excessively cold. After cooling the indoor air, it maintains the temperature and then proceeds to control humidity.
LG Electronics implemented AI Cold-Free by applying a new two-stage heat exchanger technology. Air whose temperature has dropped after passing through a cold heat exchanger is passed again through a warm heat exchanger, discharging air with only moisture removed while maintaining an appropriate temperature.
AI wind uses a radar sensor to detect the user's location and space and sends airflow suited to the situation. AI sleep learns the customer's preferred sleep environment and patterns to provide customized care. AI voice recognition uses GPT-based AI to understand the customer's spoken intent to operate the unit and recommends operating modes suitable for indoor conditions.
Other features include ▲"away power saving," in which the radar sensor detects the user's absence and reduces energy consumption by up to 77% when away ▲"pet care," which continues cooling according to preset routines so pets stay cool while the user is out ▲"Filter Clean Bot," which automatically cleans fine dust off the fine filter every week ▲"AI heat exchanger cleaning," where AI analyzes data measured by humidity and temperature sensors to determine heat exchanger contamination and cleans it automatically ▲"clean management," which manages every airflow path from the intake filter to the outlet.
Jang Seok-hun, head of the RAC Business Unit at the ES Business Division of LG Electronics, said, "With the 2026 Whisen Objet Collection that delivers AI convenience customers can feel—such as the AI Cold-Free function that controls temperature and humidity at once—we will continue to lead the premium AI air conditioner market."
