SK Telecom said on the 18th that it recently ran a program of privacy-focused education and corporation tours for middle and high school students in Naju, in partnership with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Naju Office of Education.
The program was prepared to respond to the sophistication of cybercrime techniques such as voice phishing and smishing. SK Telecom planned the event to raise awareness of the importance of protecting personal information in daily life and to support the creation of a safe digital environment.
A total of 45 people, including middle and high school students and teachers from the Naju area, college-student mentors, and officials from related institutions, took part in the training held at the T Tower in Euljiro, Seoul. SK Telecom introduced to students: ▲ major cybercrime types and cases such as voice phishing and smishing ▲ examples of responding to cyber threats using AI technology ▲ key response principles for protecting personal information.
Students learned to understand security threats they may encounter in daily life and practical ways to keep their personal information safe. SK Telecom provided a Q&A session with field experts to broaden understanding of the security industry and roles and to help with career exploration.
Students also visited SK Telecom's flagship store, T Factory Seongsu, and experienced the exhibition program "For My Next Chapter." They filled out a 2026 mandal-art planning chart and made their goals and direction for the year concrete.
Cha Ho-beom, chief privacy officer (CPO) at SK Telecom, said, "We are continuously strengthening our information security framework to create an environment where people can communicate with peace of mind," and added, "We hope this program raises teenagers' awareness of personal information protection and leads to practice in daily life."
