Tmap Mobility said on the 16th that it attended Renault Group's "Tech World Tour," held at Renault Korea's central research center on the 14th, where it introduced the Tmap infotainment service applied to Renault's flagship crossover "FILANTE" and shared the results of the collaboration.
The Tech World Tour was held to coincide with the FILANTE world premiere schedule, with about 30 members of the global press in attendance, and questions followed on the cases of Tmap infotainment adoption and its technological competitiveness.
At the event, Tmap Mobility explained in-vehicle software competitiveness by focusing on key technologies of the Tmap infotainment applied to FILANTE. The in-vehicle navigation service TMAP AUTO uses a user interface (UI) optimized for FILANTE's large horizontal display and provides search, route guidance, and map functions. It also includes a traffic light information guidance feature based on the Cooperative-Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), enhancing driving convenience and safety.
In addition, through TMAP Store, various third-party applications can be added and updated via over-the-air (OTA) updates, realizing a software-defined vehicle (SDV) environment that enables feature expansion and service advancement even after vehicle delivery.
FILANTE also adopts Tmap's advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) map that reflects nationwide road information. The map stays up to date through automatic monthly OTA updates and is designed based on NDS, the global standard for digital map data, providing scalability with future model expansion and overseas market applications in mind.
The event also introduced "adot Auto," an in-vehicle artificial intelligence (AI) agent applied to FILANTE for the first time. Adot Auto controls vehicle functions through voice commands and analyzes driving history, driving patterns, and location information to provide personalized place recommendations and context-appropriate guidance.
Along with an introduction to the features currently in use, Tmap Mobility also presented a strategy to advance services based on vast place data, a map technology roadmap tailored to next-generation vehicle environments, and directions for expanding AI-based personalized services.
Tmap Mobility and Renault Korea have maintained a cooperative relationship since 2012, when they began supplying Tmap navigation for vehicles. Since then, Tmap services have been applied to various models, including the Grand Koleos, and with the adoption in FILANTE, the companies plan to expand their collaboration on an integrated infotainment platform that connects various in-vehicle services beyond navigation.
Park Seo-ha, a vice president at Tmap Mobility, said, "Renault FILANTE is a case where navigation, the ADAS map, the store, and the AI agent are integrated around Tmap infotainment," adding, "We will continue to advance software experiences optimized for the vehicle environment through our collaboration with Renault Korea and expand into AI-based mobility services."
