NCSOFT said on the 15th it made strategic investments in two domestic game developers to expand its global publishing business and secure new IP.
The investment targets are Dynamis One, a developer specializing in subculture games, and Dexa Studio, a developer specializing in massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG). The two companies were founded in 2024 by core developers behind genre-defining hits and have expertise in their respective genres and proven development capabilities.
Through this investment, NCSOFT will secure the rights to new IP underway at the two developers and accelerate the expansion of its global publishing business and the build-out of development clusters at home and abroad.
Dynamis One is a game developer with expertise in the subculture genre and is currently developing an unannounced new title, project AT (working title). Project AT is a new-strange ("shin-denki") subculture role-playing game (RPG) themed around magic and administration, and is a fresh undertaking launched after a previous project was halted. NCSOFT will handle domestic and overseas publishing for project AT and will continue to push portfolio diversification and the establishment of a subculture development cluster.
Dexa Studio is a developer founded around MMORPG specialists with successful track records and is developing a new IP, project R (working title), featuring high-end graphics and action. Leveraging its accumulated know-how in running MMORPG services, NCSOFT will take charge of domestic and overseas publishing for project R to create synergy between Dexa Studio's development capabilities and its own MMO business organization.
Park Byung-moo, NCSOFT co-CEO, said, "This investment is a strategic investment in external developers who have proven strong development histories and execution," adding, "We will continue to invest across diverse genres to strengthen global publishing competitiveness and expand development clusters by genre."
