Riot Games said on the 13th that Woori Bank signed a sponsorship agreement for League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) on the 12th.
At the signing ceremony held at CHZZK LoL Park in Jongno District, Seoul, attendees included Woori Bank President Jeong Jin-wan and Riot Games Korea head Cho Hyeok-jin.
Woori Bank has sponsored the LCK since 2019, and with this agreement, the partnership will continue for eight consecutive years. As a main partner, Woori Bank decided to continue its collaboration with the LCK.
As part of its LCK sponsorship, Woori Bank has operated the "Woori WON Banking High School LoL League," supporting the expansion of the esports base and the discovery of new talent. Woori Financial Group previously sponsored the national esports team that competed at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games.
Riot Games Korea head Cho Hyeok-jin said, "Thanks to Woori Bank's continued sponsorship, the LCK has been able to grow into a global league," and added, "As we are together again this year, we will work to strengthen the league's competitiveness."
Woori Bank President Jeong Jin-wan said, "At the Hangzhou Asian Games, esports drew significant public attention," and noted, "We expect the partnership between Woori Bank and Riot Games to contribute to the development and broader reach of esports."
