Samsung Electronics said on the 13th that it is partnering with Fender to launch the guitar learning platform app Fender Play TV. The goal is to build an environment where users can watch professional instrument instruction on Samsung Electronics TVs.
The Fender Play TV app will be available in the first half of this year on 2026 model-year TVs and Smart Monitors. transfer models will be supported sequentially through future updates.
The service was designed based on data showing that 90% of beginner guitarists give up midway. Samsung TV users can use the app to select their instrument of choice among ▲electric guitar ▲acoustic guitar ▲bass ▲ukulele and learn through a structured curriculum. For those playing guitar for the first time, videos are included on ▲how to hold a guitar ▲how to tune a guitar ▲how to play chords ▲how to read tab notation ▲how to play riffs, the repeated guitar melody patterns. It also supports Jam Mode, which provides an experience like playing together on a virtual stage with the TV screen as the backdrop.
Fender Play TV differentiates itself by moving beyond the small screens of existing mobile devices and tablets to leverage a TV's high-resolution display and sound system. Founded in the United States in 1946, Fender is a manufacturer specializing in instruments such as guitars, basses, and amplifiers. It is known for making the guitars used by musicians called "rock masters," including Eric Clapton, Kurt Cobain, and Buddy Holly.
Lee Heon, vice president of the Samsung Electronics Visual Display (VD) division, said, "Samsung TVs have now evolved beyond simple content viewing tools into the central platform of home life where learning, self-improvement, and enjoyment coexist," adding, "We will continue our collaboration with Fender so that instrument playing can naturally blend into everyday life through Samsung TVs."
Cliff Kim, head of the Fender Play TV division, said, "We are pleased to deliver Fender Play TV's innovative interactive lessons through the overwhelming picture quality and large screen of Samsung TVs," adding, "This partnership offers the best opportunity for music lovers around the world to learn instruments at home in the most comfortable and effective way."
