SOOP said on the 12th it will integrate services that had been run separately in Korea and globally into a single platform and introduce "one SOOP" that users and streamers around the world can use in the same environment.
The integration was pursued to expand to the domestic platform the experience of upgrading technological infrastructure accumulated after the global platform launch, collaboration with overseas streamers and partners, and know-how in producing and operating global content. SOOP plans to link communities in key regions, including Korea, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, North and South America, into one platform to boost global operational synergy.
The integrated platform will strengthen global real-time communication features. It will support five languages—Korean, English, Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Thai—and apply artificial intelligence (AI)-based automatic translation and subtitles to lower language barriers. The features will be available across major devices including PC, mobile, smart TVs, and tablets.
On the content side, it will expand global co-participation content. It will bolster multilingual broadcasts of major League of Legends (LoL) leagues such as LCK, LEC, LPL, LCS, and CBLOL, as well as esports tournaments including VALORANT, PUBG, and Tekken, along with joint streams and global participation content featuring domestic and overseas streamers together. In addition, it plans to gradually expand global sports content such as overseas broadcasts of KBO and the UMB World Cup.
Along with the platform integration, SOOP will also enhance its global support system for streamers. It will systematically support the entire process from onboarding overseas streamers to their activities, while also expanding opportunities for domestic streamers to operate overseas and produce joint content through collaboration with local partners.
Chief Executive Choi Young-woo said, "This platform integration by SOOP is the process of building a new ecosystem that goes beyond regional and language boundaries and is consolidated through content," adding, "Within one SOOP, we will continue to expand global synergy so that users and streamers around the world can naturally interact and grow together."
