The Cinety "Watch together" content on the domestic streaming platform SOOP has reached a cumulative 100 million views.
Cinety is a service that brings together various genres, including SOOP original content, streamer signature series, and virtual content. Starting with the drama "I'm Sorry, I Love You," it has expanded its "Watch together" content to films and animation.
The company said Cinety's "Watch together" creates a structure in which content is repurposed within the platform even after viewing. Real-time reactions and memorable scenes from live broadcasts do not vanish when the stream ends; instead, they are remade into new content through the hands of streamers and users.
Users do more than just watch; they generate fan-made content, such as creating and sharing "custom wallpapers" by compositing their favorite streamers with content posters. Streamers also become the protagonists in dramas to stage acting contests, or they parody key scenes in their own style, offering fun that differs from the original.
Viewing and conversation spread through Cinety showed ripple effects that extended to consumption outside the platform.
On Mar. following the release of season 1 of "Attack on Titan" as a "Watch together" on SOOP Cinety, a representative case saw season 2 of "Attack on Titan" climb to No. 1 in viewing rankings on Laftel, an animation-focused over-the-top (OTT) service, drawing renewed attention.
A SOOP official said, "We will continue this flow of content consumption through the acquisition and operation of diverse intellectual property (IP)."
