Nexon and AbleGames said on the 7th that Maple Idle, a mobile idle role-playing game (RPG) jointly developed by the two companies, surpassed 3 million cumulative users worldwide about two months after its official launch.
Maple Idle recorded about 570,000 peak daily active users (DAU) and about 140,000 peak concurrent users in November last year, its first month of release. Since its debut, it has ranked No. 1 in revenue on Korea's two major app marketplaces, and it remains within the top 10 worldwide in revenue on Google Play Games in key Asian markets such as Taiwan and Singapore, as well as in North America.
A Nexon official said, "By combining a game system that can be enjoyed without burden in a busy daily life with the familiar MapleStory universe, we have successfully attracted not only existing MapleStory users but also a new user base that prefers idle RPGs."
