AI music startup Neutune said on the 7th that it will showcase AI research results and services specialized in gugak at CES 2026, the world's largest IT trade show in Las Vegas.
Neutune is working with the National Gugak Center to develop a gugak singing AI. They are jointly researching singing data and generation and conversion technologies that reflect gugak's unique vocalization, sigimsae, and jangdan structure.
Neutune's participation in CES was arranged as part of the project to build cultural AI training data and discover utilization services promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Culture Information Service Agency (KCISA). A Neutune official said, "With the arrival of the Generative AI era, the goal is to build reliable Korea-style cultural AI training data so that Korean culture, especially gugak content, can be generated accurately without distortion on global AI platforms, and to promote its potential uses to the global market."
On site, visitors can try a variety of gugak AI services, including the gugak singing AI, through Neutune's AI music service MixAudio. In connection with CLO, the world's No. 1 3D fashion design solution, it will also introduce an AI service that uses traditional patterns and can be immediately deployed in 3D digital fashion production workflows. Visitors can experience generating, editing, and transforming gugak singing and performance using the National Gugak Center's digital audio and AI.
Neutune CEO Lee Jong-pil said, "We will continue to take the lead in spreading the value of K-gugak in the global music technology ecosystem while preserving the identity of gugak."
