PIOLINK said on the 7th that it has hired Vice President Jang Myeong-gi, formerly of IBM, as the new head of its business division. Vice President Lee Seong-min, who had served as head of the business division, was appointed head of the Japan business headquarters.
New Vice President Jang Myeong-gi worked at IBM Korea for more than 30 years, handling IT sales across a range of industries. Going forward, Jang will oversee PIOLINK's overall domestic business and overseas operations excluding Japan, and plans to focus on advancing the business structure spanning networks, security, and IT infrastructure.
With this personnel move as a starting point, PIOLINK plans to boost its competitiveness in domestic and overseas markets and strengthen the company's growth drivers. A PIOLINK official said this is a "two-track personnel move" to simultaneously advance domestic and overseas businesses.
Vice President Lee Seong-min, who had been head of the business division, will take charge of the Japan business. PIOLINK regards Japan as an important strategic overseas market, and Lee plans to leverage extensive business experience and local insight in Japan to actively drive revenue growth and business expansion.
