Intel said on the 6th that at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, it launched the "Intel Core Ultra Series 3," based on Intel 18A, regarded as the most advanced semiconductor process under development and manufacturing in the United States.
The product is the first commercial processor based on the 18A process designed and manufactured in the United States. Intel said it boosted next-generation AI computing and power efficiency at the same time.
Performance also improved significantly. Large language model (LLM) processing performance improved by up to 1.9 times compared with the previous generation, and end-to-end video analytics saw performance per watt and per dollar improve by up to 2.3 times. Throughput for vision-language-action (VLA) models increased by up to 4.5 times.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 is expected to be used in more than 200 product designs from major global partners. It is projected to be the most widely supplied case among Intel's AI PC platforms. Preorders begin today, with sequential global sales starting on the 27th.
