"In growth markets such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robots, which are new drivers of opportunity, let's build unrivaled competitiveness with No. 1 technology and provide differentiated solutions to customers."
Samsung Electro-Mechanics President Chang Duck-hyun said this at the New Year's kickoff ceremony held on the 2nd at the Suwon plant. The ceremony was livestreamed online to other sites, including the Sejong and Busan plants.
In his New Year's address, Chang called for building a resilient business structure that does not waver despite an uncertain external environment. ▲ Secure a technological edge focused on high value-added products ▲ Enhance manufacturing competitiveness through expanded automation and productivity gains ▲ Commercialize new businesses such as all-solid-state batteries and glass substrates ▲ Companywide innovation using AI — these were also shared as the "2026 management direction."
Chang said, "2026 will be a year of challenges in which technological innovation and changes in the global business environment unfold simultaneously," and added, "The Components Division should expand development of leading products for AI servers and automotive electronics." He continued, "The Package Solutions Division will focus on developing high value-added products for servers and AI accelerators," and said, "It is time for the Optical Solutions Division to secure competitiveness to enter growth markets such as automotive electronics and robots."
Chang concluded, "The difference between first and second place is decided by the final 1% of detail," and emphasized, "Let's have every employee maximize capabilities in their respective areas and raise completeness to the end to turn crisis into opportunity and build technological competitiveness that overwhelms rivals."
