Jung Jai-hun, president of SK Telecom, used his New Year's address to stress that, just as it made history in the telecommunications business as a united "Dream Team," the company should also write a new chapter on the artificial intelligence (AI) stage.
On the direction of change for 2026, Jung said, "With a focus on the customer, the essence of our business, let's deepen the basics and build a solid MNO (mobile network operator)," adding, "When pride takes root in our hearts, customers will also be proud to be with SK Telecom."
He continued, "Let's create a new icon of innovation unique to SK Telecom," and said, "Just as the path we have walked became the history of Korea's telecommunications, we will become the protagonists who write a new history on the AI stage."
He also said, "AX (AI Transformation) is a prerequisite that will make our daily lives more valuable and happy," adding, "Let everyone achieve their own meaningful results with AI, and let's create a virtuous cycle in which the company's growth raises our quality of life together."
Jung said, "Our transformation can be completed when we are reborn as a 'Dream Team' in which everyone becomes one," emphasizing, "A Dream Team looks to the same place, adds to each other's strengths as we walk together, and overcomes any difficulty as a 'One Team.'"
He said, "When warm hearts gather on our journey—listening and staying humble while being a comforting shoulder to one another—we will finally become a solid 'Dream Team,'" adding, "All great changes at first seem impossible and demand patience, but in the end they are remembered as brilliant growth." It is a call to set aside fear of change and become a steadfast support for one another.
Jung said, "As CEO, the chief change manager (Change Executive Officer), I will back you so that members can take on challenges to their heart's content with excitement and confidence," adding, "Let us all become protagonists of change and stride forward together without wavering."
