Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong held a New Year's dinner with presidents of Samsung affiliates on the 2nd. At the event, Lee is expected to discuss management plans and strategies.
According to the industry on the 2nd, Lee and the Samsung presidents attended a New Year's dinner from 6 p.m. that day at the Samsung Electronics Seocho office in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The dinner was attended by Roh Tae-Moon, head of the Samsung Electronics device experience institutional sector (CEO and president); Jun Young-hyun, head of the device solution institutional sector (vice chairman); Park Hark-kyu, head of the Business Support Office (president); Yong Seok-woo, head of the Visual Display Business Division (president); Han Jin-man, head of the device solution institutional sector Foundry Business Division (president); Song Jai-hyuk, device solution chief technology officer (CTO); Choi Yun-ho, head of the Business Support Office Strategy Team; and Kim Won-kyung, head of the Global External Relations Office.
Oh Se-chul, CEO of Samsung C&T; Choi Joo-sun, CEO and president of Samsung SDI; Lee Cheong, CEO and president of Samsung Display; and Chang Duck-hyun, CEO and president of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, were also reported to have attended.
They watched a video containing the current state of management and business strategies to be pursued going forward.
In business circles, attention is on what management message Lee will deliver at the dinner. In March last year, at a seminar for executives, Lee said it was "time for the management first to reflect thoroughly and act boldly with a determination of 'life-or-death,'" and the message was reported to have come from the presidents' dinner.
