ADT Caps, the physical security brand of SK shieldus, said on the 31st that security team leader Lee Yong-ju received a commendation from the chief prosecutor of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office for contributions to protecting and supporting crime victims.
The commendation recognized contributions to reducing threats to personal safety that crime victims may face during investigations and court appearances, and to preventing secondary harm such as retaliatory crimes.
Since signing a business agreement with the Goyang Paju Crime Victim Support Center in 2019, ADT Caps has continued personal protection activities for crime victims. Focusing on cases with concerns about retaliation such as stalking and domestic violence, professional security personnel accompany victims when they travel for investigations or testimony, managing travel routes and providing on-site protection.
Along with protecting crime victims, it is also carrying out prevention activities. ADT Caps is running crime prevention education for vulnerable groups such as women, single-person households, and young people, focusing on self-defense theory and situation-specific response methods. It has conducted more than 70 cumulative sessions over the past three years, and the number of sessions this year increased compared with 2022.
ADT Caps plans to expand the training targets from 2026 to include people with disabilities and their families, as well as employees of related welfare institutions. It also plans to offer hands-on training to improve crime prevention and daily safety capabilities, along with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instruction.
Lee Yong-ju, security team leader at ADT Caps, said, "The role of security personnel is to support safety when crime victims feel anxious," and added, "We will continue to work with relevant agencies to protect crime victims and strengthen community safety."
